Pretty much sums up my silence...

Life is terrifying and we will seek not to cross uncharted territory by never saying anything that has not already been said by someone more beautiful, someone more dead.

True and beautifully put. One could say we should just throw caution to the wind and do and/or say whatever is in our hearts at the moment. But, it’s just not that easy for each and every person, now is it? It's so easy for me to say "life's too short" and "we've only got this one life" and "live like it's your last day." I still don't take risks or 'totally' come out of my shell very often, if at all. I recently discovered the bubble I live in. I plan to pop it one day...hopefully.

"It doesn't happen all at once," said the Skin Horse. "You become. It takes a long time. That's why it doesn't happen often to people who break easily, or have sharp edges, or who have to be carefully kept. Generally, by the time you are Real, most of your hair has been loved off, and your eyes drop out and you get loose in your joints and very shabby. But these things don't matter at all, because once you are Real you can't be ugly, except to people who don't understand."

Beautiful, I think. And yes, for sure, more dead. But that shouldn’t silence YOU, Sardine. You have something to say. Something so much more than pop-culture and celebrity worship. You have your stories to tell. Tell your stories. What’s out there is worn out and tired. We’re drowning in the prose of star-fuckers, debutantes, hangers-on and privileged babies. Those of us who are less than that in this world need to hear from navel gazers. Don’t be silent.

***[...] because once you are Real you can't be ugly***

What an amazing quote!
